TL;DR

Hubble's node count reduced from 13k to 10k, with plans for further reduction. Alchemy addressing free accounts running hubs, mainly targeting airdrop farmers. Hub divergence fixes underway. Warpcast Sync Status: healthy for 7+ days. Storage reduction on hold to explore options. Composer actions expanding beyond initial three, now functional on web. New user experience improvements include a recommendation algorithm for feeds and enhancements to the signup flow. Spam detection improvements for feeds. DC performance and feature enhancements underway.

HUBBLE — @sanjay, @wazzymandias, @sds, @cassie

  • Large number of nodes, lots were due to some YouTube tutorials etc

    • Caused a few downstream issues

    • More FC notes than ETH nodes

    • Added some stuff to the hub setup process to hopefully try to bring it down

      • was at 13k now down to 10k, plans to reduce further

      • have ideas like staking/paying if it doesn’t slow down enough, but hopefully this is it

    • Alchemy is seeing a ton of free accounts running hubs, Alchemy is trying to shut it down(hit a few real uses but has mostly only hit airdrop farmers)

  • Hub divergence — working on a series of smaller issues

  • Warpcast Sync Status — status.warpcast.com (healthy for 7+ days)

STORAGE REDUCTION - @wazzymandias

  • On pause, exploring options

  • Probably postponing this for at least one release cycle to explore options & focus on other things(like sync issues) rn

FRAMES + ACTION + DOCUMENTATION — @dwr.eth @deodad @horsefacts

  • Working on expanding composer actions beyond the initial three

  • Composer actions work now on web too

  • Explorer tool to test composer actions & changes to the spec

  • Still TBD on the timeline/process for officially integrating to Warpcast

  • Frame signatures

    • eg. Polymarket frame uses two EIP712’s

    • They have a group chat for this type of stuff, reach out to @deodad or @horsefacts to get added

  • @deodad has also been working on Farcaster docs, trying to make it more relevant to devs who are coming on and want to get started building things

    • Less emphasis on “protocol stuff”, more on getting started to build things

NUX IMPROVEMENTS — @akshaan, @cmlad.eth, @blockheim

  • Working on algo to recommend feed instead of auto follow

    • Based on interests, the app will generate an algo feed but you have to explicitly follow people to add them to your follow list

      • Evolves from an algo feed to a follow feed

      • Early version shipped to small % of new users, will hopefully have this out to all new users in the next few weeks

  • Improvements to signup flow

FEED IMPROVEMENTS — @akshaan

  • Improvements to spam detection

DC IMPROVEMENTS — @gt, @gabrielayuso.eth

  • Performance and feature improvements
