Ordering - a new sync model

• Sheer number of messages syncing is getting large

• The FIP work might be taking a bit longer but think this can not only make sync a lot easier but also make debugging any future sync errors easier

• Reduced size of URLS to make the QR code easier

• Done for now but if were to do more, would:

  • add the 8 char code in Warpcast

  • think about moving to EdDSA, would make it easier for apps like Supercast to be web companion

Public Blocking

• Users you block

  • Can’t quote cast or reply to you in Warpcast

  • Won’t show up in your feed

• Blocks(unlike mutes) are public, available over an API

• Notes on blocks

  • Not a full block since Farcaster is decentralized(eg use another client), mainly makes it harder to see content on WC

  • Need to do more in WC so the person you blocked can’t fully see your content

Boosts

• Have been thinking about how to reward good content, espc newer accounts & Boosts is a first experiment in this direction

• Selecting small accounts(<10k followers) who are casting — 10 of them given out per day and the distribution lasts for 24 hours

• Collecting a bunch of stats on if this ups your following/views/etc, will share the results eventually

Caster Rewards

• Warpcast is giving $5(USDC on Base) a day to the top 100 casters through the end of the year

• Filters out engagement from spammy accounts, more bias towards “known good” accounts

Explore

• Continuing to add new apps, over 150 apps and 50 submissions to go through

• Bunch of requests for media and non-app creations, still exploring that(if media is a frame, easy to add to Explore today)

• Added the FlappyCaster experiment, composer action but right in the Explore Page

  • Dan’s very interested to see what would wanna build, highly encourage to reach out

  • Will help inform if they should essentially work on a mini-app platform here

• Horsefacts has been working on integrating Rainbow

• There are a few Mobile Wallet Protocol(MVP) and Coinbase Wallet changes underworks to help support this & further wallet connection support overall, but Coinbase is committed to making this work

• Excited to have not only better wallet connection but also another wallet option
