TL;DR

Channels feedback loop ongoing, Direct Casts launched auto-expiring messages and are developing new APIs, Hub team is debugging a V8 memory leak, location FIPs and Warpcast Twitter verifications are in progress, and Warpcast is exploring smart wallet and multi-client support for SIWF

Priorities

1. Growth

  • Channels

    • Collecting user feedback, planning to pursue onboarding, requests and decentralization

  • Feeds

    • Improving relevance by running a series of experiments and investigations

  • Transactions

    • Mini-app transactions are now live (docs)

    • Thinking through approaches to building more usable wallets in apps.

    • Thinking through a unifying design for frames, mini-apps, actions.

      • Mini apps potentially as place to take more frame-based actions, also easier than another set of domain proxying for actions

2. Direct Casts

  • Shipped auto-expiring messages

  • Working on next set of developer APIs

3. Reducing Sign Up Costs

  • Protocol signups are $2, Warpcast is at $3

  • New spam model rolled out — much fewer false positives

  • Prototyping graph based detection using fraudar and oddball with @notawizard

4. Hubs

  • Team has been heads down on memleak, possible V8 bug

  • Prototyping Snapchain consensus with Informal System’s malachite

  • Writing Snapchain overview doc covering all the cases

5. FIP: Locations

6. Sign in with Farcaster

  • Priorities are web and multiclient support

  • Looking into whether smart wallets + passkeys can help
